Thursday August 28th, Travis received his 8th birthday present 2 days late.
His present - what else a new bike ! Travis picked up his 2009 Kawasaki KX 65
from our friends at Gowanda
Starcraft
in Gowanda. Owner Doug Gabel is pictured here with Travis after
we got everything loaded and ready to go in front of the dealership. Doug has
been a great supporter of our team since the beginning, so it is always nice to
see Doug, Mary and all the folks at Starcraft.
Special thanks to Casey and Dave in the shop for doing the setup for Travis, as the bike needed to be lowered a little for the new pilot. Travis will be aboard his new KX next season, as we have decided to skip Travis' last year of 50cc eligibility and move on to the bigger bike. With Travis' height, the 65 will be a much better fit for next year. We also hope to be able to race a few indoor events this winter on the little KX depending on the schedule. Travis has been practicing on a Suzuki RM 60 for a couple months, so the shifting has been going very well. Travis even had a chance to race his 60 at Pymatuning on August 22nd, where he finished 5th for the first time out with a clutch. Upon getting home with the new KX, Travis immediately went out and tore up the back yard with the little green monster showing no problem adapting to the new bike at all. We will post some pictures of the bike soon once it has been dressed up with a new set of black plastics and a full graphics kit from our friend Tom Hunt over at Hunt Graphic.

5/4 - Nick raced at Freedom MX and was 9th in the Super Mini Class and 7th in the Junior Mini Class.
5/10 - Colton raced at Pymatuning MX and was 3rd in the Junior Mini and 8th in the Super Mini Class.
5/16 - Travis raced at Pymatuning MX and was 2nd in the Senior Pee Wee on his bike and 2nd on his quad in the Junior Mini Quad Class.
14 May 08 ... All the boys race this Sunday at Mapleshade - looks wet and cold - GREAT! Part 2 of the Nick and Colton battle in the 85s. Both are really looking good right now and there's a friendly teammate rivalry brewing. I think they are going to push each other to get better, which will make them both faster. Can't wait to watch 'em. They are both the nicest boys you'd ever want to meet. Very polite to everyone in the pits and well liked by their peers. Should be a good battle.
Travis is mad after the mudfest last time cost him spots. He may be a force this week. He always rides good when he's mad - ha! ha!
27 Apr 08 ...
Today was opening day at Mapleshade. We will have results for all the boys later in the week but enjoy the photo of Colton and Nick going at it in the Junior Mini Class. These 2 had a great battle today - Little Nick came out on top I think, but have to see results. Travis had a 4th in the Pee Wee Quad on his new DRX 70 and a 3rd in the Senior Pee Wee on his bike.

On April 18th, Nick and Travis both raced at Pymatuning Holeshot Raceway for a Friday night race. Nick was 6th in the Junior Mini and Travis was 3rd in the Senior Pee Wee. Check out the photo to the right.

Nick Ranft raced at Area 51 on April 6th and got an 11th overall in the Junior Mini Class.

Travis Langworthy
- Travis debuted on his new King Cobra in the Senior Pee Wee Ages 7-8 Class that he will race the next 2 years with a nice 7th place finish. He also had a solid 3rd place finish in the Pee Wee Quad Class. Travis will be on a new 2008 DRX 70 quad next season.
Colton Kneer
- Colton had a super season in the 65cc Ages 7-9- class, which he finished with a 5th place finish on 10/14. Colton will be moving up to the older 65cc class for next year as a 10 year-old. Colton should be one of the riders to beat next year.
Nick Ranft
- Nick had a nice 8th place overall in the Junior Mini Ages 7-11 on his Honda CR85 to go with his 9th place in the 65cc Ages 7-9 class. Nick is young enough to race the same classes next year, but he may focus more on the 85.

26 July 2007 The boys had a solid day again on July 22nd at Mapleshade, as great weather and a smaller turnout made for a quick day of racing action.
- Travis posted another win in the Junior Pee Wee 4-6 year-old class on his bike (getting him a nice new rear tire prize) and a 2nd place finish in the Pee Wee Quad class.
- Colton showed why he's one of the most improved 65 riders this year with an impressive 4th place overall in the 65cc 7-9 year-old class.
- Nick didn't race on the 22nd, as he was out of town for a wedding with his family.
25 July 2007 We want to
congratulate Sarah Miller on
some great results on and off
the track. She won the
Blaster Class at Freedom Raceway
on June 30th, and finished 2nd
in the s

class at Freedom on July 14th.
Sarah also just graduated from high school on June 23rd - Valedictorian at Forestville High School. Sarah will be attending Alfred State College in the fall to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology on a full scholarship.
8 July 2007 at Mapleshade - Bikes and Quads as usual: A very productive day as the boys put in their best rides of the season with some huge gates for the special "Big Trophy Day". Travis got his 6 ft. trophy by winning on his bike. Colton had an impressive 5th place finish in the 65cc class and Nick looked very fast as he collected 10th place despite a couple major crashes.
24 Jun 2007at Mapleshade - Quads only race - Huge gates in one of the biggest quad races of the year. Travis battled all day against some tough national caliber competition. Travis was very fast and attracted lots of attention with him being far younger than almost all the competition.

Hill Racing this past weekend. The boys
all fought hard, and posted some
excellent results against such strong
competition. Nick and Travis stayed over
night and had lots of fun with their
many friends who did the same. The dads
also got to relax Saturday night if you
were staying over, because you didn't
have to pack up at the end of the 
day!

3 June 07: It was the worst mudfest I have ever seen there. Many kids signed up, and then decided not to race as the track deteriorated. I still can't believe Travis finished a lap on his bike. I don't know how he made it! His gloves were solid mud from his quad race right before. I didn't get to him in time to change the gloves, so he had to go without them. He couldn't hang on to the bars ! He's a tough little guy even though he doesn't look like it. Very determined kid that son of mine. Colton had an excellent day, and he was the only one of the boys to run his 65. Nick didn't run, and Cam just ran his 50. Hoping for dry weather in a couple weeks.

29 May 07: Travis Langworthy did very well at Miles Mountain this weekend - especially for his first visit to the track. Travis managed to get the holeshot in his 2nd moto on the quad against some pretty strong competition. Very nice little track they have there - mini supercross. Lots of fun! Travis finished 2nd overall in the Pee Wee Quad class and 4th overall in the Junior Pee Wee ages 4-6 class.
The boys will all be at Mapleshade this coming Sunday the 3rd. Sarah will be racing soon, as she has been busy being a high school senior getting ready for college next fall. All of Pope Hill Racing want to congratulate her on being named Valedictorian of her class. Pretty cool! Sarah will race her quad and actually do a couple on her bike.
22 May 07: Pope Hill Racing riders hit the track at Mapleshade MX on 20 May 07. Tough weekend for the boys. A couple crashes. Travis went from 1st to 3rd in a heap his 2nd moto - eventually got up and tried to catch up but too much to make up. Tough break there. Cameron had a nasty crash and went home early. He's very sore, but should be OK with a little rest. Nick and Colton had solid outings. Look for the boys to rebound 3 June 07!

Pope Hill Racing has signed an agreement to operate a night of bike and quad racing at the Chautauqua County Fair in Dunkirk, N.Y. on Friday July 27th, 2007 starting at 6:00 PM.
We want to welcome Sarah Miller, and Travis Langworthy back to Pope Hill Racing for 2007 and introduce the newest members of Pope Hill Racing: Colton Kneer , Cameron Lord, and Nick Ranft.
